On the morning of Jessica & Matt's wedding I awoke to a heartbreaking message. Matt's father had fallen very ill and would not be able to make it to the wedding. They hoped they could make a trip to the hospital to visit him instead of doing bride and groom portraits after the ceremony. Of course I was happy to be of help in such a difficult situation for them and their family.
The first portion of the day was spent photographing Jessica getting ready. There was a lovely gazebo outside that I used to arrange her shoes and accessories in. Jessica is a huge fan of converse and decorated a pair to wear on her wedding day. The Chuck's were an awesome way to show her own style and ensure she didn't have sore feet at the end of the day!
During the ceremony, Matt's sister live streamed the wedding for their father and once the ceremony was over and guests had been greeted, we made our way to see Matt's father. He was delighted to see them and the hospital staff were visibly touched by their visit.
Once back at the reception, the newlyweds welcomed their guests, squeezed in a brief photo session in the garden beside the venue, fed each other cake and enjoyed their first dance as a married couple.
